Getting There

The Reef-Magic Box is a historic venue in downtown Los Angeles formally known as 'The LA Mart' located at 1933 S Broadway DTLA 90007. The chic venue houses the top designers, exclusive gift showrooms and furnishings.  You will enjoy our choice of venue, I know we do.  There will be plenty of room to sit and relax between shopping, workshops while enjoying our hand picked food trucks.

There is plenty of  metered street parking in the area.  The parking lot at The Reef will be between $15-20.  If you don't mind walking there is plenty street parking close by as well as several other parking lots.


METRO train

My personal favorite is taking the Metro.  The MTA trainstop is only a block away at the LATTC ( Los Angeles Trade Tech College)

 Hotel  DTLA  LAX  Hollywood

There are many ways to Xperience Los Angeles. The Hotels are endless and Air B&B are fabulous options.



If you want the downtown life try The Luxe,  The Standard, The Los Angeles Hotel or The Ace.  A tighter budget will take you to Hotel Figueroa, a great hang out bar & DJ on first floor.



If you don't mind the riding the train, Stay in Hollywood for the tourist in you. The Renaissance or the W Hotel are literally next to a MTA station.  Experience a true Hollywood adventure.


Culver City

Only a 12 minute ride to DTLA, The Doubletree located  convenient to the 405Fwy on Sepulveda and Centinela has offered a double rooms for $189.00 if reserved before July 10th.  Mention Nappywood


LAX Airport

LAX offers beautiful hotels with all the ammenities, best if you have your own transportation or don't mind taking Uber or other options.  You could take a hotel shuttle to the MTA stop nearest the airport.  You will have to transfer a couple of times, great for the adventure type.

Nearby Attractions

If you visit Los Angeles you must experience the Cultural Mecca of LA.  Home of the African & American experience of LA; Tendy African clothing boutiques, art galleries, tasty Cafes and Underground music or Jazz, enjoy the drum circle or better yet take a drum class.  You can even visit our non profit partners @WeCanFoundation or @BlackWomenforWellness



Eat a basket of fresh lobster on the pier with your fingers to Jamacian Jerk Chicken or vegan food even the serious meat eater would wonder. The Nappywood team is compiling a full list of their favorites for you.  Check back.



First timers  looking for a LA shopping experience ... Downtown Fashion & Garment District, you can buy an entire outfit from $10 to $5000 ( you choose)  The trendy Melrose  Ave and Hollywood boutiques will offer funky chic choices with cool bars and restaurants in between. Best Afrocentric choices will be in Leimert Park, the cultural mecca of LA



The city of Angels is full of diverse culture.  The 2016 Nappywood Team is collecting a list of favorite cultural activities.  Some include the California African American Museuem, The Inkwell Beach in Santa Monica, Believe or Not, there's a Tour bus to Compton pointing out the neighborhoods of your favorite rappers.  The truth is you are 2 hours from the beach, the mountains or the desert.
